Congratulations Jeunesse! What an honour
We are so honoured to work along side Friends With Dignity. Please support them by purchasing a ticket to one of the upcoming High Tea with Friends events coming up around Australia. The shared goal of three women to make a significant difference to families affected by DV and the community in general is the backbone of Friends With Dignity, a nationwide not-for-profit providing practical assistance to men, women and children displaced by domestic and family violence.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Friends with Dignity, Manuela Whitford, is a clinical nurse who established the charity after witnessing desperate women getting themselves incarcerated in order to find a place of refuge.
Manuela was shocked to discover that many women in the prison system were seeking refuge from violence happening within their homes - a place associated with safety, warmth and love.
Zoe Scharenguivel connected with Manuela when she co-ordinated a fundraising luncheon in 2015 to raise money to donate to an organisation in support of domestic violence prevention, after lighting one too many candles in memory of friends and strangers who had lost their lives as a result of domestic violence.
Julia McKenna crossed paths with Manuela when she responded to a Facebook call-out by Manuela's former charity to help co-ordinate a "sanctuary" for a domestic violence survivor leaving refuge.
Julia vowed to focus her time and energy to putting an end to DV after the passing of her childhood friend and relative Allison Baden-Clay at the hands of her husband.
Manuela Whitford, Julia McKenna and Zoe Scharenguivel launched Friends with Dignity on the 1st of September, 2015 - and haven’t looked back.
As Friends With Dignity is 100% self-funded, their greatest challenge is raising awareness of the work they do, as well as raising incoming funds for the organisation through fundraising initiatives and in-kind support.
Another big challenge is nil funding and needing to expand into other areas throughout Australia to be able to reach more people, especially in the rural areas where there are limited or nil supports.
Friends With Dignity is committed to continue filling the gaps!
Friends With Dignity's famous High Tea With Friends events are taking place in May in support of Domestic and Family Violence Awareness Month in Perth, Newcastle, Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. Australian of the Year 2015 and domestic and family violence crusader, Rosie Batty is the special guest speaker at High Tea with Friends (GC) - Key Note Presenter Rosie Batty, and Vanessa Fowler, sister of the late Allison Baden-Clay is the special guest speaker at High Tea with Friends - Brisbane 2018.
All three directors will be attending the four High Tea With Friends events across Australia, and cannot wait to meet you!!
Please purchase your ticket here before the events sell out >>> www.friendswithdignity.org.au/htwf

Building better tomorrows for kids in Fiji......
Creating positive impact is at the core of everything we do at Jeunesse.
One of the ways we embody this message is through the work we do via our philanthropic arm, Jeunesse Kids. By raising funds to support children in disadvantaged communities, the charities we support provide funds for education, nutrition and healthcare to give kids a brighter future.
In our region, Jeunesse Kids recently partnered with Lila Pratap, founder of Damini Women's Association of QLD. The association’s mission is to protect the children of Fiji, and promote a positive and skill based environment while empowering the children.
